Prize Draw Terms and Conditions 

The Stafford Building Society – General Competition Terms 

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all prize draws (“Competitions”) operated by The Stafford Building Society, Head Office: 4 Market Square, Stafford, ST16 2JH (“the Society”). By entering any Competition, participants agree to be bound by these Terms. 

1. Eligibility

1.1 Competitions are open to UK residents aged 18 or over unless otherwise specified. 
1.2 Employees of the Society, its agents, contractors, or anyone professionally connected with a Competition are not eligible to enter. 
1.3 No purchase is necessary to enter unless explicitly stated in individual Competition rules. 

2. How to Enter

2.1 Entry instructions will be provided on the associated Competition webpage or promotional materials. 
2.2 Unless otherwise stated, only one entry per person is permitted. 
2.3 Entries submitted after the advertised closing date will not be included. 

3. Prize

3.1 Prize details will be clearly outlined in each Competition’s promotional material. Prizes may include, but are not limited to: 

3.2 Prizes are non-exchangeable and non-transferable unless otherwise permitted by the Society. 
3.3 For cash prizes, payment will be made via bank transfer or an alternative method at the Society’s discretion. 
3.4 For gift card or voucher prizes, the Society reserves the right to substitute the prize with an equivalent of equal or greater value. 

4. Winner Selection and Notification

4.1 Winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries unless the Competition specifies a different mechanism.
4.2 The draw will take place within 7 days of the Competition closing date unless otherwise stated.
4.3 Winners will be notified using the contact details provided on entry, or via the contact information the Society holds.
4.4 If a winner does not respond within 14 days of notification, the Society reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
4.5 The Society may publish the surname and county of winners. Individuals may request that some or all of this information is withheld by contacting the Society.

5. Tax and Regulatory Information

5.1 Prizes, including cash, vouchers, and gift cards, may be considered taxable benefits depending on individual circumstances.
5.2 It is the winner’s responsibility to declare the prize to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and pay any applicable tax.
5.3 The Stafford Building Society does not provide tax advice. Participants should seek independent advice if unsure of potential tax implications.
5.4 Competitions are conducted in accordance with relevant UK legislation, including the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations and advertising codes administered by the ASA.

6. Data Protection

6.1 Personal data provided during the Competition will be processed in line with the Society’s Privacy Policy https://srbs.co.uk/privacy-policy/.
6.2 Data will be used solely for administering the Competition and contacting entrants or winners unless additional consent is obtained.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 The Society accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, incomplete, corrupted, or not received due to technical issues.
7.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Society shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from participation in a Competition or acceptance of a prize

8. General

8.1 The Society reserves the right to amend or withdraw any Competition or these Terms at any time where circumstances require it.
8.2 The decision of the Society regarding any aspect of a Competition is final and cannot be challenged.
8.3 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
