Can The Stafford change the Interest Rate?

The Stafford Building Society has the right to change interest rates in certain circumstances. If we change the rates we will give you 14 days’ notice. Please refer to the savings terms and conditions for further information on these circumstances.

How do I open and manage my account?

  • Available to United Kingdom residents aged 16 years or over, providing you have not subscribed to a Cash ISA in the same tax year already.
  • We accept Cash ISA transfers from other ISA Managers.
  • Once the maximum amount has been subscribed in any tax year (Currently £20,000) no further subscriptions will be allowed regardless of how much is withdrawn. (This is not a flexible ISA account)
  • It is a passbook-based account and can be opened and operated in branch or by post at the member’s own expense
  • Minimum Balance: £100
  • Maximum Balance: £75,000 (Subject to an individual’s total overall savings balance with The Society does not exceed £450,000).

Can I withdraw money?

  • This account is for people who do not need immediate access to their funds as immediate withdrawals will not be allowed. 
  • Withdrawals, closure, or transfers to another account are subject to 60 days’ written or verbal notice. You will be given a maximum of 5 working days to make the withdrawal once the 60 days’ notice has been served.
  • Cash withdrawals are limited to £2,500 each day & require 24 hours’ notice over £500.
  • Withdrawals will not be allowed without the passbook
  • Withdrawals can only be made by cash or by faster payment to your nominated bank account.
