At The Stafford, being community driven means much more than making donations. It means turning up, rolling up our sleeves and playing an active role in creating lasting impact.
Recently, six members of our team, including our Head of HR, spent a full (and very hot) Friday volunteering at Uttoxeter Racecourse to support Girlguiding Midlands. The occasion? Magical Midlands – their biggest ever regional event, welcoming more than 6,700 young members and leaders from across the UK.
From assembling gazebos to filling paddling pools, it was a challenging day under the sun, but an incredibly rewarding one. As our Head of HR, Ruth Dulson, put it:
“Spending time volunteering alongside the team was a real reminder of what The Stafford stands for – being present in the community, working as a team and being part of something bigger.”
This day was not just about practical help. It reflected what we believe at The Stafford: that supporting community savings in the UK starts with real, on-the-ground action. Whether we are helping people save for their future or helping deliver once-in-a-lifetime experiences, our approach is rooted in human connection and shared values.
As a proud community savings provider, we know our role goes beyond financial services. It is about fostering resilience, building trust and championing opportunities that uplift everyone in our region.
We are proud to have contributed to an unforgettable event and thank Girlguiding Midlands for allowing us to be part of it. Our commitment to community-driven initiatives remains stronger than ever, and we are already looking forward to the next opportunity for The Stafford.
