9 July 2025 – The Stafford Building Society has officially reopened its town centre branch following a full refurbishment, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to local service and the Staffordshire community.

The Worshipful the Mayor, Councillor Jenny Barron and Consort, Alderman Ray Barron led the ribbon-cutting ceremony and joined colleagues, members and local community representatives to mark the occasion. The updated branch offers improved accessibility, a more welcoming layout, and two private rooms to support confidential and personal conversations with members.

The refurbishment preserves key traditional features of the building while introducing thoughtful enhancements to improve customer experience and operational flow.

Chief Executive of The Stafford Building Society, Steven Jones, commented:

“This work reflects our commitment to keeping personal, face-to-face service alive on the high street. As a Mutual Building Society run locally, it matters to us that our members feel known, valued and supported.”

The reopening reflects the Society’s ongoing commitment to investing in local communities and ensuring members have access to personal, face-to-face service where it matters most.

The refreshed branch now offers a more accessible and thoughtfully designed space, balancing modern improvements with the traditional character that members value. The team is also exploring further opportunities to expand and enhance physical access to services in other parts of Staffordshire, continuing the Society’s belief in being present and available within the communities it serves.
