Notice 120 – Monthly Interest

The Stafford Building Society has the right to change interest rates in certain circumstances. If we change the rates we will give you 14 days’ notice. Please refer to the savings terms and conditions for further information on these circumstances.

This projection assumes the following:

£5,000 is deposited into the account at the time it is opened. No further deposits or withdrawals are made. The interest rate stays the same for the full 12 months. Please note, interest is paid away on a monthly basis to a nominated bank.

• The account can be opened in branch, by post or online.
• This is a passbook based account and can be operated in branch or by post at members own expense.
• Available to private individuals.
• Available to UK residents only.
• Limits apply to cash deposits and withdrawals (see Savings Terms and Conditions).
• You can save from: £5,000.
• Maximum Balance: £450,000 (Subject to an individual’s total overall savings balance with The Society does not exceed £450,000).
• You are allowed a maximum of 3 account based withdrawals each society year.

• Withdrawals, closure or transfers to another account with us are subject to 120 days’ notice. You will be given a maximum of 5 working days to make the withdrawal once the 120 days’ notice has been served.
• Cash withdrawals are limited to £2,500 each day & require 24 hours’ notice over £500.
• Withdrawals will not be allowed without the passbook.
• Withdrawals can be made by post (Faster Payment Only) and must include a signed letter specifying the amount along with the passbook.
• Withdrawals can only be made by cash or by faster payment to your nominated bank account.

• Individuals can hold a maximum of one individual and one joint Notice 120 Monthly account with the Society.
• We pay all savings interest gross – no tax is deducted. You are responsible for paying any tax due based on your individual circumstances. Tax rules may change in future.
• Please note: The maximum deposit permitted in a Notice 120 Monthly account is £450,000.
• The maximum combined deposit across all accounts with The Stafford Building Society is £450,000 per customer.
• Interest is paid away on a monthly to a nominated bank.
• Your savings are protected up to £120,000 per eligible person with the FSCS compensation scheme.
• It’s worth noting that any of our accounts can be withdrawn from sale at any time and without notice.

*Gross: Interest paid without any tax deducted. You are responsible for paying any tax due, depending on your individual circumstances and allowances.
*AER: The Annual Equivalent Rate shows what the earnings on your savings would be if interest was paid and compounded once each year.
