How do I open and manage my account?

  • The account can be opened in branch, by post or online.
  • This is a passbook-based account if opened in branch or via postal service and can be operated in branch or by post at your own expense.
  • If you open the account online, a passbook will not be issued. You can manage your account online including obtaining deposit and withdrawal information (if applicable).
  • Available to private individual UK residents aged 18 years or over only.
  • Limits apply to cash deposits (see Savings Terms and Conditions).
  • You can fund this account by cash, cheque or faster payment ONLY.
  • You can save from £1,000 up to a maximum of £450,000.
  • This is a limited issue fixed rate account. We must receive your deposit within 14 days of the account opening.
  • We will contact you at least 14 days prior to the maturity date and explain the options available to you. If we do not receive a response, your account will automatically transfer to our Pullman Easy Access Account (Variable rate) and further correspondence will be sent confirming this action.

Can I withdraw money?

  • No. Once the 14-day cooling off period is over, you will not be able to access your funds until the maturity date (30 June 2027).
  • A 14-day cooling-off period applies to this account. This means that if you change your mind, you have 14 calendar days to
    close the account without notice, charges or loss of interest where the funds will be returned to you. Day one begins on the date the account is opened.

  • Upon account maturity, you will have the options of:
    • Moving your balance into another savings account.
    • Closing your account as per our terms and conditions.
  • You can hold a maximum of one individual and joint account of this type with The Stafford Building Society.
  • Please note: The maximum deposit permitted in a Fixed Rate Bond 30.06.27 account is £450,000.
  • The maximum combined deposit across all accounts with The Stafford Building Society is £450,000 per customer.
